Unison Protest at the Scottish Parliament

UNISON protest at the Scottish Parliament as part of a National Day of Action for the Fair Visa Campaign.

Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. 10th June 2026. UNISON protest at the Scottish Parliament as part of a National Day of Action for the Fair Visa Campaign. UNISON members and supporters invited MSPs to support a fair visa system and to back proposals for a Scottish migration scheme that reflects the country’s workforce needs. The UK Government plans to treble the qualification period to 15 years for overseas workers to live in the UK before they can settle. The workers were initially told they could apply to remain in the UK after five years, and are angry ministers are now seeking to change the rules.
